Mini-Bunco defines mathematical probabilityandpresents four dice rolling experiments that compare theactualoutcomes to the predicted mathematical probabilities.Experiments include: rolling one die; rolling two diceandchecking for craps and naturals; rolling three dice andtrackingbuncos and bunketts. The rolling dice are simulated bycalling theJavaScript random function.A fourth experiment, Mini-Bunco, simulates the actual gameofBunco itself except in "mini". The participants are reduced from12to 2 [Player and Computer], rounds are reduced from 3 to 1,andeach round is 7 points rather than 21. AlphaBeta is a simple little game that teaches the classic Greekalphabet. A Greek letter is hidden under a grid of 25 squares eachhaving a letter of the Greek alphabet on its face. As the playerclicks the letter squares, they disappear revealing an imageunderneath of a large letter of the Greek alphabet. At any time,the player may guess the letter by pressing a button below thegrid. This exposes the complete letter and the player receives anaffirmation of his choice or a correction. The player may choose totake a test consisting of 10 Greek letters chosen at random foridentification. He receives a score, positive comment, and a happyface. The player may take the test again, or return to the gamegrid for additional practice. Sim3 simulates a computer [Simpletron 3] executing a programwrittenin SML, Simpletron Machine Language. An overview of thevirtualcomputer is presented including details of the SMLlanguage, sampleprograms, and instructions on how to operate the"computer". SML isan assembly language that provides for thereading, writing, andmanipulation of integer data with the fiveoperations: addition,subtraction, multiplication, division, andexponentiation. The usercan enter a program, then watch thecomputer assemble and executeeach statement. During executioncertain fatal errors are detected:attempt to divide by zero,accumulator overflow, invalid operationcodes. These errors willproduce an error message. Logic errors willproduce erroneousresults. Careless user errors will cause theprogram to crash. Theuser must be careful to select and press thecorrect buttons. Abuzzer will notify the user that data input isrequired so turn onthe sound! Both program and data reside inmemory; it's theresponsibility of the programmer to preventoverlap. Simpletron 3has a RAM of 100 addresses from 00 to 99 andstores integer data inthe range -9999 to +9999. The memory can bedisplayed at any time.
